Does My Mom Think I'm Crazy?
Monday May 11, 2020
Monday May 11, 2020
On Mother's Day weekend, I had a conversation with my mom about her views on the environment.
The statistic we mention from Story of Stuff is actually 99%, and you can find it at about the 11 minute mark here: https://www.storyofstuff.org/movies/story-of-stuff/I would like to mention that this includes everything extracted, and therefore is somewhat misleading, as it includes all our food and other consumables. So if we just regularly buy consumables like food and whatever energy source we are using to heat our homes, I imagine that number would be close to that high anyway, since we wouldn't be accumulating stuff like clothes and trinkets so quickly.
The image for this episode is an oldie, but a lovely memory I have with my mom splashing our feet in a kiddie pool.
